   About the Angela Dione Foundation

The Angela Dione Foundation was created in 2005 in response to a growing and devastating epidemic that affects hundreds of thousands of families every year. Historically, stroke and brain injury awareness has been limited. People know that strokes happen, and know that the effects can be severe, even deadly. But for many, brain injuries are shrouded in mystery. There is little understanding about the cause, or the cure – or the possibility of living a full, rich life after suffering a massive stroke.

Stroke and brain injury survivors can be rehabilitated and overcome their affliction with a high quality of living. But to do so, they need care, support, and solutions from people who understand their needs and want to help.

The Angela Dione Foundation exists to promote stroke and brain injury awareness, to help those in need, and to care for the sufferers and their families.

   Purpose

The purpose of the Angela Dione Foundation is to build a bridge to the community of support, help, and hope for sufferers of brain injury and stroke; to care for survivors and their families, and share the experience together; and give voice to this silent epidemic, both in the medical community and in the world.

   Vision and Goals

Our vision is to see the Angela Dione Foundation make a lasting impact in the world of brain injury, and in the lives those affected by it. We hope that these specific goals, as part of our greater vision, become a reality.

  • People are empowered to deal with the issues of brain injury and stroke because of the increased level of awareness and knowledge we have created in this country
  • We gain massive support from corporate America for our organization and others who support stroke and brain injury awareness, prevention, treatment, and support
  • We become the synergistic partner of those who are improving awareness and knowledge of stroke and brain injury in America
  • Survival and outcome statistics change positively through heightened awareness, improved prevention, and the support of high quality outcomes for survivors and their families
  • Thousands of people come together to share their stories, experiences, inspiration and support
  • The outcomes for stroke and brain injury survivors improve dramatically, as does their quality of life.

   About Angela

April 1st, 2004 was the day that forever altered the course of one family’s otherwise ordinary journey.

On that morning, Angela’s husband Michael kissed her and their newborn baby girl goodbye and went to work.

After several failed attempts to reach her throughout the morning, he rushed home to find her helpless on the bed, in a coma, with the baby beside her.

The baby, Madison, was okay –and Angela was rushed to the hospital.

Angela’s stroke was severe. That she survived was, indeed, a blessing. That she recovered was nothing short of a miracle.

Today, Angela is a stay-at-home mom, happily raising her daughter and enjoying a rich, full life with the family that she loves. She lives the life of a mother, a wife, and a friend, and enjoys all of life’s simple pleasures.

But Angela is more that just a mother and a wife and a friend to those who know her. She’s an inspiration to everyone who witnessed her survival and recovery, and who are now witnessing the difference that she is making in the world.

Angela is the inspiration of this organization, established in her name. And her complete story, written by her husband as a diary of events, can be found at this link.
